About this role
We are excited to expand our established surgical services to include a dedicated Oncology department. As a Veterinary Oncologist, your mission is to provide life-changing specialized care, ensuring every animal has the chance they deserve. You will be a key player in launching and growing this service line within a supportive, high-volume environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Specialized Care: Deliver advanced oncological diagnostics and treatments to a diverse patient base.
- Collaboration: Maintain strong cooperative relationships with primary care veterinarians and internal hospital departments.
- Clinical Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of medicine and the veterinary code of ethics.
- Communication: Lead with a professional demeanor, making clear clinical decisions and communicating effectively with both teammates and clients.
About you
You are a compassionate, motivated specialist who finds joy in the challenges of oncology and the satisfaction of patient recovery. You are a dedicated team player who values the bond between pets and their owners. Professional requirements include:
- Education & Certification: A DVM degree from an accredited university and Board Certification in Oncology (or being residency-trained).
- Licensure: Ability to maintain a license in good standing to practice in the state of New York.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional composure and a professional demeanor, even in high-pressure situations.
- Mindset: A commitment to continuous improvement and a desire to be part of something bigger.

- Compensation: An annual base salary ranging from $200,000 to $300,000. Clinicians always earn their base and never owe a deficit at the end of the year.
