About us
You’ll join a large, supportive mixed practice where 13 veterinarians and a highly skilled group of qualified and registered vet nurses enjoy working together and looking out for one another. Our loyal, engaged clients value the care we provide, and they keep coming back to the people they know.
We keep investing in our people, our facilities and our services. Our recently renovated hospital gives the team and our patients a modern, progressive place to thrive, and a CT scanner is due to be installed in the coming months. Together with our branch clinics in Tin Can Bay and Murgon, we’re a practice that supports professional growth and keeps looking for ways to improve the care we give.
I cannot recommend Dr Emily enough! I have an extremely anxious kelpie and Dr Emily is always so patient with him, she doesn’t rush the appointment and she takes her time with him! She listens to all of my concerns and provides me with so much information! The reception team especially Alice is just the best! I cannot recommend you guys enough!! – Kiarna Thode – Google Review
About this role
From day one, you’ll be surrounded by experienced vets and nurses who enjoy collaborating and supporting each other, all focused on outstanding patient care. While we’re a mixed practice, we’ve shaped this role for a veterinarian who wants a dedicated small animal focus, with an emphasis on consulting and general practice.
Gympie offers a balance between metropolitan and rural practice. As a regional city, we’re often the first point of contact for urgent and emergency presentations, so you’ll build valuable experience in emergency medicine and surgery without the demands of a dedicated ECC environment. When emergencies arrive, it’s a true team effort, with vets and nurses working together for the best outcome.
Your caseload will be varied, from routine preventative care through to emergency and complex medical cases. With modern equipment and an experienced team, we diagnose and manage the vast majority of cases in-house, which means you can follow your patients through and give them excellent continuity of care.
About you
You love small animal general practice and enjoy the variety of a regional caseload. You’re a natural collaborator who values having colleagues close by, and you’re keen to keep building your confidence and clinical skills.
- You enjoy consulting and building trust with clients and their pets
- You’re a team player who’s happy to share cases and pull together when it counts
- You welcome a mix of routine, emergency and complex medical work

Our location
Life in the Gympie region comes with beautiful countryside and affordable living.
