About us
Animal Referral Hospital Minchinbury is Western Sydney’s multidisciplinary specialist and emergency hospital, purpose-built to support advanced patient care and a strong working environment for veterinary professionals.
Opened in 2023, the hospital brings together specialist and emergency clinicians in a modern setting designed for collaboration across disciplines and the wider ARH Sydney network.
You will have access to high-field MRI, CT and fluoroscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, three dedicated operating theatres and a modern ICU. Integrated RxWorks and Smartflow systems support patient management, while Heidi Care is available to streamline clinical note taking.
For clinicians who enjoy teaching and mentorship, dedicated education and wet-lab facilities also create opportunities to contribute to the development of future veterinary professionals.
I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the team at this vet. They took exceptional care of my Dutch shepherd, Anubis who needed emergency care. They were super kind to me the entire time and were great when he needed to be referred to a specialist hospital. They were also super patient when I was sorting out funds. They treated me with nothing but kindness and respect and Anubis was given top notch care. I thank all the staff for being so kind and patient with me – Anouk B – Google Review
About this role
We are looking for an Emergency & Critical Care Specialist to join our growing team and help shape the next stage of Critical Care at Minchinbury.
This is an opportunity to combine high-level clinical practice with genuine influence over how the service develops within a rapidly growing multidisciplinary hospital. You will work alongside experienced clinicians across ARH Sydney, with access to the facilities, technology and collaborative support required for complex emergency and critical care cases.
If you are interested in contributing beyond clinical responsibilities, there is also scope to develop into a strategic leadership and management role within the hospital. That pathway can be shaped around your interests and discussed during the interview process.
About you
You will bring a collaborative clinical style, strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent patient care and client service. You will be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary environment and interested in contributing to the continued growth of the Critical Care service.
We welcome applications from:
- Registered Specialists in Emergency & Critical Care
- Diplomates of ACVECC or ECVECC, or Fellows of the ANZCVS
- Residency-trained Emergency & Critical Care candidates

Western Sydney continues to offer more affordable housing options than many parts of greater Sydney, giving you the potential for more space while remaining connected to the city.
Western Sydney International Airport is also located around 30 minutes from the hospital, adding convenient domestic and international travel access as the new airport opens.

We offer flexibility around how you build the role, together with a package designed to support both your specialist career and life outside the hospital.
