About us
Kyabram and Nathalia Veterinary Clinics are a progressive mixed animal practice supporting clients across Kyabram, Nathalia, and the surrounding Northern Victorian region. With a 13 vet team and deep roots in the local dairy industry, we provide comprehensive care across dairy, production animals, equine patients, and companion animals.
Our main clinic in Kyabram is a modern, purpose-built facility, supported by our branch clinic in Nathalia. Across both locations, our team is committed to high-quality, evidence-based veterinary care, preventative health, strong client relationships, and practical outcomes that matter on farm, in hospital, and in the day-to-day lives of the people who trust us with their animals.
You’ll be supported by experienced veterinary colleagues and skilled nurses, both in clinic and on farm. Our hospital includes a full IDEXX in-house laboratory, ultrasound, DR, video-otoscope, dedicated dog and cat wards, a dedicated grooming area, a tipper crush, multiple curvilinear Easi-scans, and bull testing equipment including iSperm.
Bob is not the friendliest fella but it didn’t even phase the vet who was delightful throughout the visit even though lord furry pants hissed and growled while she looked him over. Was extremely helpful gave a range of options all with costings. Transparency with vets is something you don’t always find so much appreciated – Sam C – Google Review
About this role
This is a full time mixed practice veterinarian role with dairy work making up around 50 to 60% of the caseload. You’ll also have exposure to companion animal medicine and surgery, equine care, and other large animal patients, giving you the variety that makes mixed practice rewarding while still building genuine strength in dairy practice.
Your role will include in-clinic care, on-farm calls, preventative health, herd health, practical client advice, and collaborative case management. For newer vets, there is structured support to help you settle into mixed practice and build confidence before spring calving. For more experienced vets, there is room to broaden your skills, contribute to the team, and shape your role around the areas of practice you enjoy most.
The role includes a 9 day fortnight, with a sustainable shared on-call and Saturday morning roster. An early to mid August start would be ideal, with flexibility for end-of-year applicants.
