About us
Brighton Vet has built something unusual on Perth’s coastal northern edge: a clinic where the environment itself is designed around how good medicine actually gets practised. Spacious consult rooms, natural light, protected breaks, real admin time, and a structured end to the day aren’t perks we’ve retrofitted. They’re the shape of how we work — designed to support a strong team dynamic and maintain a high standard of care over time.
Our clients are loyal, respectful, and education-focused. They value gold-standard care, ask good questions, and give you the space to work cases up thoroughly and make considered decisions. That’s a rarer foundation than it sounds, and it’s what makes the work here feel sustainable rather than reactive.
The clinical setup supports the kind of gold-standard practice our clients have come to expect: endoscopy, ultrasound, digital dental radiography, IDEXX in-house pathology, dedicated theatre and imaging spaces, and orthopaedic and TPLO equipment on site. While we work closely with referral partners, there’s strong scope to develop and manage cases in-house — particularly if you have a passion for areas like orthopaedics — supported by an experienced nursing team that’s capable of carrying real weight in your day.
We are a proud member of VetPartners, Australia and New Zealand’s largest veterinary care network, with more than 270 practices and specialty hospitals. VetPartners provides the infrastructure, equipment, and training that empower our teams to focus on quality medicine, the people and pets they care for. With six Veterinary Training Centres and a network of more than 4,000 vets and veterinary nurses, we offer the strength of a national network while keeping the heart of local practice.
Have always looked after our Lulu, from simple procedures to some more complicated ones over this past year we feel more at ease knowing the team here always deliver. No mater how big or small the procedure/surgery the after care and follow up consultation are always included and they care ensuing the pets needs are put first. About this role
This is a hands-on clinical leadership role, not an administrative one. You’ll spend most of your week in consults and theatre, with the mentoring, standards work, and culture-building happening alongside the medicine rather than instead of it. Our nursing team is capable and settled, the clinical resources are in place, and the workflow has been built to give you the time to actually lead: structured admin windows, protected breaks, and an end-of-day process that doesn’t stretch you past closing.
Day-to-day, you’ll be working a varied small animal caseload with clients who trust your judgement and back considered diagnostics. You’ll mentor the team through complex cases, refine clinical standards, and help shape the direction of a clinic that’s already well-regarded locally. You’ll also have the clinical support of the wider VetPartners network when you want a second opinion or a specialist sounding board.
About you
You’re a confident, compassionate clinician who leads with empathy and clear communication. You enjoy mentoring, you take the team’s wellbeing as seriously as clinical outcomes, and you’re the kind of vet others quietly pattern themselves on. You bring a considered approach to medicine, you’re comfortable making the call when it matters, and you’re ready to put your name on the standard of care in a clinic where the foundations are genuinely sound.
You hold a BVSc, DVM, or equivalent recognised in Australia, with at least five years of clinical experience and a track record of mentoring or supporting less senior colleagues. You’re registered, or eligible to register, with the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board of Western Australia.
Our location
Butler sits on Perth’s coastal northern edge, where the Indian Ocean meets one of WA’s fastest-growing communities. Families find newer housing stock, established school catchments, and swim-safe beaches within walking distance of most streets. Couples reach Yanchep National Park, Two Rocks Marina, and the Swan Valley wineries on weekends. Early-career vets trade inner-Perth rent for ocean views and a direct Joondalup line into the CBD. It’s coastal WA without the trade-off of feeling cut off from the city.
