About us
We are three clinics spread throughout the Whangarei region to ensure we can successfully provide the district with top-of-the-range Veterinary Services, including Companion Animals, Production Animals, and Equine. We have Best Practice Accreditation for our Maunu Road and Hikurangi clinics.
We are a positive, kind, and cheerful environment with a qualified and professional team, all of whom truly enjoy their work, with a caring Team Leader whose priority is always her staff. We have a great team of happy, well-supported, and supportive nurses who make a vet’s job a dream! We provide the perfect environment to offer outstanding care to families and their small friends and gain a high standard of professional satisfaction.
Northland Veterinary Group is a mixed practice, multi-clinic environment that services the whole of the greater Whangarei district. You will have a varied and interesting caseload. We are Best Practice accredited. The practice is well equipped, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray, fluid pumps, and IDDEX.
We have four indoor cats; the eldest is 19 years old…..we have always had wonderful service from the Maunu Road and Onerahi clinics for all our cats…empathy and kindness from the front desk reception to the nurses and vets everybody gives exemplary service – Roberta T – Google Review
About this role
Northland Veterinary Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Companion Animal Vet to join our well-established practice.
Each day, you will be supported and mentored through an interesting mix of consulting, treatment, and surgical responsibilities.
This is a permanent position with approximately 1:6 after-hours roster (CA only) with days off after a weekend worked. Full or part-time applicants will be considered.
We value CPD and will support attendance at CPD that is relevant to the needs of the practice.
About you
As a respected member of our friendly team, you will have the opportunity to develop a close working relationship with our loyal clients and their small friends whilst being encouraged to work up cases and take them through from initial presentation to resolution.
Our location
Northland is a great place to live and raise children. We have high sunshine hours and quick access to many beautiful beaches. There are many outstanding fishing and diving activities. Whangarei (NZ) is a rapidly growing area where you can enjoy the café, art, and culture scene. We have an extensive and beautiful coastline with easy access, providing year-round hiking, horseback riding, etc. Whangarei is only two hours from Auckland, and our houses are still affordable.
