About this role

You will primarily work in the field, serving our established and growing East Bay clientele approximately 45 minutes from the hospital. Your caseload will offer plenty of variety, spanning preventive care, sports medicine, reproduction, dentistry and emergency work, with scope to continue developing areas that particularly interest you.

A fully equipped veterinary vehicle is provided, with digital radiography, ultrasound, gastroscopy, point-of-care diagnostics and orthobiologics available in the field. When a case needs more, you will also have access to the hospital’s advanced diagnostics, surgery and referral services, together with the experience of the wider Pioneer team.

The position currently carries approximately 50% of the on-call responsibility, although the emergency caseload is presently light. As the East Bay caseload grows, additional associates are expected to join the team, reducing the individual share of on-call responsibilities.

Your ambulatory work will centre on an established East Bay clientele in Northern California, approximately 45 minutes from Pioneer Equine Hospital. It offers the independence of working within your own client community while keeping the hospital’s advanced facilities, colleagues and referral services within practical reach.
